Wheelchair Transport to Dialysis in Decatur, GA

Recurring, private-pay rides along the Memorial Drive dialysis corridor. One setup, the same pickup window every treatment day.

In-center hemodialysis runs three days a week, about three to four hours a session, in the same time slot every treatment day. A missed ride means a missed session, and missed sessions are how manageable kidney failure turns into an emergency room visit. For patients who use a wheelchair, feel drained after treatment, or cannot count on family being free at dawn three days a week, the transportation is part of the treatment.

The Local Picture

Decatur and DeKalb County hold 19 dialysis sites, one of the densest clusters in the metro. The Memorial Drive corridor carries multiple Fresenius, U.S. Renal Care, and DaVita locations, with more sites along Candler Road and Flat Shoals Road. That density works in your favor: shift times are staggered across centers, so pickup windows stay flexible, and if your nephrologist moves you to a different center on the same corridor, your standing schedule barely changes.

How Standing Scheduling Works

One setup call covers the month. Give us your treatment days, your pickup time, your center, and your mobility level. We hold that pickup window every treatment day. For the return, pick a scheduled pickup time or use a will-call. Sessions rarely end on the dot, which is exactly why the will-call option exists.

When the Broker Ride Doesn't Show

Since April 2025, Verida has been the single Medicaid NEMT broker for all of Georgia, and members must book non-urgent rides three business days in advance. Missed and late broker rides are a documented problem, and Georgia's brokers have a record of complaints and fines. If you are not Medicaid-eligible, could not book in time, or were left waiting, private-pay NEMT is the direct alternative: you book with us, there is no three-day rule, and the driver answers to you.

Getting Started

  1. Call with your center's name, treatment days, and pickup time.
  2. Tell us your mobility level — wheelchair, ambulatory, or stretcher.
  3. Pick your return style: fixed pickup time or will-call.
  4. We lock in the standing schedule; you call only when something changes.

Can I set up a standing schedule once and stop rebooking?
